Amazon Kindle DX

I recently invested in the Amazon Kindle DX. I’ve been on the market for an ebook reader for some time, but I wasn’t so convinced with the small sizes of the available e-readers. I’m a ferocious reader, if I may say so myself. I have a lot of books as well as ebooks in PDF format.

I also like to be updated with current events, so I like to read newspapers. This was one of the reasons why I was attracted to the Amazon Kindle in the first place – I could subscribe to newspapers right on the device. The size, however, was a problem, and I found out that the Kindle did not support PDF files.

I tried looking at other ebook readers with larger screens such as the iRex Digital Reader and the iLiad 2nd edition, which were both too expensive for me. Good thing Amazon followed through with the Amazon Kindle DX.

The Kindle DX supported PDF files and had all the features of the original Kindle, including the newspaper subscriptions. Best of all, it was made a bit bigger than the usual size of e-book readers. The price was lower than those of the other bigger ereaders I checked out earlier, so it didn’t take long to convince me.

When I got my Amazon Kindle DX, I was really satisfied with it. It looked great and was just the right size. It had good memory capacity and the cool wireless downloading feature.

I haven’t used the Text to Speech feature since I preferred to read content than have them read to me. Other than that and the fact that it feels a bit heavy considering how thin it is, I am a pretty happy customer.
