Ectaco Jetbook

by Conner
(Austin, Texas)

The Ectaco reader easily had me convinced when I was shopping for an ebook reader. I bought the affordable Ectaco Jetbook Lite because I really was shopping on a budget.

At first, I was checking out some of the less popular models since I wasn’t keen on spending too much. Fortunately, I came across Ectaco, and I saw that the JetBook Lite was selling for under $200. I was able to get mine at $149.95 on Amazon.

At first, I wondered about the quality. Although, with my budget, I wasn’t really expecting too much, I still wanted an ebook reader that would allow me to read on the bus on the way home. I love to read, and I have a long commute every day, so when ebook readers became popular, I really wanted one.

For its size and price, the Ectaco reader did offer a lot. I did a little exploring and found that it supported so many different languages and had various dictionaries. I haven’t really used these since I mostly just speak and need English and I don’t like having to check the dictionary while reading. But having them in my small, compact, and very budget-friendly device was a treat I wasn’t about to complain about.

One thing, however, is that the device uses AA batteries. Since I really wanted an affordable device, I was confident that the use of AA batteries was a workable factor. I purchased a set of rechargeable AA batteries shortly after buying my Ectaco reader.

The combination was enough to let me read my favorite books while commuting. The Ectaco reader was also light and very portable. Unfortunately, AA batteries do have shorter life, and I have to carry around my spare all the time, which was kind of a hassle.

But again, for the price I paid, I wouldn’t really complain a lot. The Ectaco reader still helps me enjoy my books anywhere I am.
